My sinuses have been giving me issues for the past few weeks and I was concerned that an infection might be brewing. I got a late dr. appointment on Friday and went to see Sarah, my favorite PA at the office. She looked in my nose and told me an interesting fact I didn’t know. When you have an infection your sinus tissues are red. When you have allergies, the tissues are a gray purple color. Mine are very purple! I guess I’ve always been partial to purple for a reason! (Ha! Ha!) Sarah recommended that I change from Claritin to Zyrtec, which I’ve taken before. I’ve switched back and forth over the years. Then I am adding Nasonex to the daily routine as well. I’m taking Astelin, which is a decongestant nasal spray. Nasonex is a steroid nasal spray that should keep the inflammation down and I can take it as long as or whenever I need to.
I just got online and checked the weather report and there was a flashing banner that said that pollen counts for Juniper and Ash are very high right now and have been for the past few weeks, which is about as long as I’ve been noticing more issues. I remember my allergy tests said I was mildly allergic to dust and mold, but I don’t remember any particular tree pollen, but I guess that doesn’t mean I’m not allergic to them!

Catching Up
The holidays and January have got me behind. I usually have a down month in January. Maybe it's getting into the swing of things after a break. We had a really nice holiday, but it was nice to get home and just be here together. I have lots of things to blog about in the coming days, hopefully! I'm writing a list to tempt you and remind me!
- Tea Time
- Basketball
- A Year in Pictures
- Dinner
